Associate General Counsel - Global Commercial Lead

About the role

The Associate General Counsel - Global Commercial Lead will play a pivotal role in driving global commercial strategy and ensuring legal compliance across all business units. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this position will be responsible for managing complex commercial agreements, providing legal advice on global transactions, and supporting cross-functional teams in navigating international legal landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply contracts, distribution deals, and licensing agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on global transactions and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Support cross-functional teams in developing and implementing global commercial strategies.
• Conduct legal due diligence on potential partners and investments.
• Advise on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve legal issues and disputes.

Requirements

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, with a focus on commercial law.
• Experience in international law and cross-border transactions is preferred.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
• Passionate about using AI tools to enhance legal processes and decision-making.
• Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
