Associate General Counsel - Enforcement, Office of General Counsel

LegalFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with headings

for sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. No job title heading. No Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate, EEO, etc. Must preserve all substantive info. We need to parse the posting. Key content: - Intro about OGC, Enforcement Unit, role description. Could be "About the role" or maybe "About the role" section summarizing the role. - Duties: list of duties (the bullet list under "Duties Will Include But Not Be Limited To"). - Preferred Skills: list. - Why You Should Work For Us: includes Loan Forgiveness, Benefits, Work From Home Policy, Job Security, description of agency, etc. This could be Benefits section (maybe also include other perks). The Benefits section should contain details: loan forgiveness, premium-free health insurance saving >$10K, additional health/fitness/financial benefits, public sector defined benefit pension, tax-deferred savings program, Worksite Wellness Program, Work From Home Policy (up to two days), Job Security, agency description, mission, etc. But we must not include boilerplate like EEO etc. Also we should not include "Commitment To Equity" etc. - Minimum Qualifications: Admission to NY State Bar; either one year US legal experience or six months as Agency Attorney Interne; must remain member in good standing. Additional info about Assignment Levels (AL II, AL III) maybe part of Qualifications. - Public Service Loan Forgiveness repeated; but we can include under Benefits or maybe separate but we should not duplicate. - Residency Requirement: NYC Residency not required. - Additional Information: EEO again (should be removed). We need to decide sections. Potential sections: - About the role: summary of OGC, Enforcement Unit, role purpose. - Responsibilities: duties list. - Qualifications: minimum qualifications and assignment level details. - Skills: preferred skills. - Benefits: loan forgiveness, health insurance, pension, savings program, wellness program, work-from-home, job security, agency description/mission. - Pay: not mentioned; so omit. - Schedule: not mentioned; maybe work-from-home policy indicates schedule flexibility but not explicit schedule; we should not create Schedule unless posting actually states them. It mentions "Depending on your position, you may be able to work up to two days during the week from home." That's about work location, not schedule. So we should not create Schedule. Thus sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits. We need to use

for each section heading. Use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use

for prose. We must preserve all substantive information; do not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to include details like specific examples: prosecuting childcare providers, food safety, disease surveillance orders, dog owners, etc. Also mention that they file administrative proceedings against license/permit holders, advise programs, participate in drafting/reviewing legislation, coordinate with other agencies, assist liaising with Law Department on civil litigation. Duties list includes numbering 1-5 etc. We should preserve that as list items. Preferred Skills list: many bullet points. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: Admission to NY State Bar; and either "2" or "3" below. One year of satisfactory US legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar; or Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086). Incumbents must remain Members of the NY State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment. In Addition To Meeting The Minimum Qualification Requirements To be assigned to Assignment Level (AL) II, candidates must have one year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment. To be assigned to AL III candidates must have two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or three years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment. We should keep that exactly. Benefits: Loan Forgiveness: As a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal/state loan forgiveness and repayment assistance programs that lessen your payments or even fully forgive your full balance. Work From Home Policy: Depending on your position, you may be able to work up to two days during the week from home. Job Security - you could enjoy more job security compared to private sector employment and be able to contribute to making NYC a healthy place to live and work. Established in 1805, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) is the oldest and largest health department in the U.S., dedicated to protecting and improving the health of NYC. Our mission is to safeguard the health of every resident and cultivate a city where everyone, regardless of age, background, or location, can achieve their optimal health. We provide a wide array of programs and services focused on food and nutrition, anti-tobacco support, chronic disease prevention, HIV/AIDS treatment, family and child health, environmental health, mental health, and social justice initiatives. As the primary population health strategist and policy authority for NYC, with a rich history of public health initiatives and scientific advancements, from addressing the 1822 yellow fever outbreak to the COVID-19 pandemic, we serve as a global leader in public health innovation and expertise. Come join us and help to continue our efforts in making a difference in the lives of all New Yorkers! We need to preserve all that. However we must remove duplicated lines like the repeated Loan Forgiveness paragraph later (Public Service Loan Forgiveness). We should include only once. Also we need to avoid boilerplate like EEO etc. So we will omit those paragraphs. Now format. We'll produce something like:

    About the role

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) provides legal support for the agency and its many public health functions serving more than 8 million New Yorkers. The Enforcement Unit is comprised of a subset of specialized attorneys within OGC who play a leading role in advancing the NYC Health Department's major public health enforcement initiatives. OGC is seeking an attorney to work within the Enforcement Unit and handle administrative litigation that ensures citywide compliance with public health laws and regulations. The Enforcement Unit addresses some of the most urgent public health enforcement challenges facing New York City, including prosecuting childcare providers whose practices endanger children, enforcing food safety requirements at restaurants, issuing disease surveillance orders in connection with outbreaks, and ensuring that dog owners comply with recommended control measures following dangerous dog incidents.
