About the Role

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. The role focuses on Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, with primary practice located at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in formal didactic lecture programs and informal instruction of medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Attendance and participation in lectures, presentations, and conferences within the division and multi-disciplinary settings.
  • Clinical practice in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Philadelphia and/or King of Prussia campuses, and potentially in the Progressive Care Unit at the Philadelphia campus.
  • Demonstrating impact on clinical care, education, and a chosen area of concentration (e.g., education service and leadership, clinical operations, community service, quality and safety, health equity, health policy, global health, diversity and inclusion).

Requirements

  • M.D. or equivalent degree.
  • ABP certification and Pennsylvania licensure.
  • Completion of fellowship training in pediatric critical care medicine.
  • Experience in pediatric critical care medicine and evidence of academic productivity and leadership in projects related to an area of focus.

The major emphasis of the Academic Clinician track is high-quality teaching, clinical excellence, and a sustained record of professionalism. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
