Job Description

McDermott Will & Schulte LLP is seeking a Structured Finance Associate with at least 3 years of experience to join our New York office. The role will support sophisticated structured finance and securitization matters, with meaningful opportunities for partner/client contact and responsibility on active transactions.

  • Aid in structuring, negotiating, and documenting a variety of structured finance/securitization transactions (including, warehouse credit facilities, forward flow arrangements, with experience in esoteric assets a plus).
  • Manage transaction execution and assist in driving matters from early-stage structuring through closing, coordinating workstreams and deliverables across deal teams.
  • Prepare and review offering materials and disclosure documents (as applicable to the transaction).
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practices to provide coordinated advice on complex financings.
  • Supervise, mentor, and help train junior associates, as appropriate for level and deal teams.

Qualifications (Required)

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the New York Bar (in good standing).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience at a large or global law firm (or comparable sophisticated practice) in structured finance/securitization matters.
  • Experience representing market participants such as issuers, sponsors, borrowers, and/or lenders in structured finance/securitization transactions.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills, plus strong judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Strong academic credentials and a detail-oriented approach to drafting and deal execution.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • ABS, esoteric assets and consumer receivable financings.
  • Warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Pay

The expected pay range for Associates is as follows:

  • 2026/2025 Class Compensation Years: $235,000
  • 2024 Class Compensation Years: $245,000
  • 2023 Class Compensation Years: $270,000
  • 2022 Class Compensation Years: $320,000
  • 2021 Class Compensation Years: $385,000
  • 2020 Class Compensation Years: $410,000
  • 2019 Class Compensation Years: $440,000
  • 2018 and more senior class compensation years: $455,000
