Associate Field Engineering Specialist- TD
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Roche Support Network as an Associate Field Engineering Specialist. In this role, you will travel within an assigned territory to provide technical repair, installation, and support for Roche’s diagnostic equipment, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. You will manage customer accounts, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost savings. This field-based position requires daily travel and up to 20% overnight travel.
Our ideal candidate will reside in Connecticut and must live within an hour of Shelton, CT. Relocation benefits are not offered for this position.
Responsibilities
- Ensure and maximize customer satisfaction with Roche equipment and related products.
- Promote effective, positive, and productive communication among teams to exceed customer expectations.
- Install, maintain, and repair Roche Diagnostics’ equipment following standard practices and procedures.
- Identify and analyze equipment problems, performing repairs where possible or escalating complex issues.
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance per department policy.
- Monitor customer equipment performance and resolve routine issues.
- Identify revenue-generating and cost-saving opportunities, including marketing service contracts to existing customers.
- Provide routine technical support, including operator troubleshooting training when needed.
- Complete and document all service and customer account-related reports, updates, and emails in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain expenses within departmental guidelines and control inventory and company property.
Requirements
- High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.
- 2 years of experience repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, networking/wireless networking, or equivalent competency through training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and information technology.
- Knowledge of basic chemistry.
- Ability to develop in-depth technical troubleshooting skills.
- Good written/verbal communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Effective customer service skills, including a positive attitude and maintenance of ongoing customer relationships.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $55,900.00 - $103,700.00 USD annually, based on the primary location of Indianapolis. Actual pay will be determined by experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
