What To Expect
You will lead and coordinate the daily operations of facilities maintenance, ensuring the reliability and safety of critical laboratory systems. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strong leadership to oversee HVAC, mechanical, and infrastructure systems while driving compliance with lab-specific standards.
What You'll Do
- Supervise, coordinate, and support daily operations of facilities maintenance in R&D lab environments, overseeing HVAC, boilers, chillers, hydronic loops, VAVs, compressors, dryers, exhaust systems, and specialized lab infrastructure
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on mechanical, control, and infrastructure systems
- Review and approve installation, repair, and modification work on ductwork, piping, exhaust equipment, and HVAC components, ensuring proper brazing, soldering, and welding practices
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and guide optimization of Building Management Systems (BMS) such as Automated Logic, Siemens, or Ignition
- Conduct and review inspections to ensure mechanical and electrical systems meet performance, safety, and compliance standards, with a focus on laboratory-specific requirements
- Manage, coordinate, and evaluate subcontractors during maintenance, repair, and installation projects to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Support general facility maintenance needs, prioritize service requests, and allocate resources to meet evolving operational requirements
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical or facility maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role, preferably within industrial, commercial, or R&D environments
- Associate degree, technical certification, or completion of a trade school program preferred
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, support new equipment start up, mechanical repairs, and infrastructure operations with knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Familiarity with R&D lab facilities, including cleanrooms, specialized ventilation, and unique utility requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Effective leader with strong communication skills, capable of managing teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring customer-focused service delivery

Expected Compensation
The expected compensation for this position is $108,000 - $192,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
