Duties And Responsibilities Of The Position
- Assist the Executive Director in managing day-to-day operations of the facility.
- Maintain a high degree of resident satisfaction and retention through consistent delivery of high-quality services.
- Motivate and direct all team members to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to all residents.
- Act in the best interest of the community by being a good steward, driving for results, and rallying the team to achieve community goals.
- Aid the Executive Director with recruiting, training, hiring, and disciplining team members.
- Gain a full understanding of the operation in every department.
- Work with Department Heads and Supervisors to provide in-service meetings, new hire orientation, and training programs that enhance the overall operation.
- Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available, properly stored, and in good working order.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and the respective Department Heads to ensure each department is operating in accordance with MorningStar's standards.
- Walk and observe the community daily, spending equal amounts of time in every department.
- Management and oversight of Assisted Living Operations.
- Spend time in each dining room (Reflections, IL, AL) daily to ensure resident satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with company policies pertaining to resident care, human resources, financial controls, public relations, and maintenance.
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director by sharing best practices and offering suggestions for improvement as needed.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by the Executive Director.
- A college degree is preferred, but not necessary if work experience fulfills requirements and skills needed to do the job.
- Must obtain an Administrator's license.
- Minimum three years of experience in senior living is preferred and a passion to work with seniors.
- Previous management experience including hiring, coaching, supervision and discipline of team members.
- Previous experience in managing expenses and financial statements including variance reports.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication and ability to facilitate presentations as needed.
- Proven ability to manage resident, family and team member relationships and to identify and build relationships within the local community that will drive business and revenue.
- Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new/existing applications.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours, this position may periodically require on-call twenty-four hours a day/seven days a week.
- Ability to maintain composure during stressful and emergent situations.
- Must be approachable and have a strong business expertise.
