About the role
Collaborates with various departments to streamline documentation workflows and supports the implementation of best practices in clinical documentation.
Develops and maintains a robust knowledge of the product initiatives and categories supported, ensuring data integrity and effective communication of findings.
Responsibilities
- Designs, builds, and configures within assigned Epic system modules and supporting third-party applications.
- Develops test scripts and materials for end-to-end workflow testing, performs unit, system, and integration testing, and documents outcomes.
- Troubleshoots issues or system deficiencies, initiates escalation procedures, and provides recommendations for resolution.
- Remains current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates, ensuring software modifications/upgrades work according to Epic specifications.
- Follows departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases, providing documentation and training on system upgrades and new releases.
- Participates in multiple cross-functional projects, utilizing project planning and coordination methodologies, tools, and lean methodologies.
- Actively participates in project, team, departmental, and other meetings, reporting status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and barriers to the manager.
- Serves as an active member of the Clinical Applications Team, dedicated to developing electronic documentation solutions that support clinical workflow and practice.
- Serves as the primary support contact for the application's end-users during on-call support in a 24/7 production systems environment.
Requirements
- Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes [Required]
- Basic Microsoft suite of products [Required]
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills [Required]
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills [Required]
- Work with minimal guidance [Required]
- Rapid learner [Required]
- Knowledge of clinical/technical workflow [Preferred]
- Must have knowledge and experience with Electronic Information Systems (e.g., Electronic Health Record) [Required]
- Strong computer skills including basic troubleshooting, and critical thinking [Required]
- Strong clinical workflow knowledge [Required]
- Working knowledge of how departments relate to one another and process flows in between them [Preferred]
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite [Preferred]
Qualifications
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Field Of Study in a field of study such as business, IS, or a healthcare related [Required]
- 1+ emr application/implementation experience [Preferred]
- 1+ experience communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience [Required]
- 1+ years of clinical or technical background [Preferred]
