Associate Engineer - EMC Testing (2nd Shift)

Responsibilities
- Conduct on and off-site evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standards under the guidance of a senior engineer.
- Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the Equipment Under Test (EUT).
- Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
- Validate project scope and sample applicability.
- Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
- Follow established test plans, set up, and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs as needed.
- Conduct thorough construction reviews and document results.
- Perform testing of products in accordance with standards and operate standard test equipment.
- Diagnose failures during tests and explore alternative testing options under senior engineering staff direction.
- Ensure proper logging of samples into and out of the system following sample handling procedures.
- Move equipment as needed through the facility and properly package samples for shipment.
- Manage less complex projects utilizing available resources under the direction of a senior engineer.
- Compile test results, data, and product descriptions to finalize reports using established report shells.
- Submit reports to reviewers for final approval.
- Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.
- Provide ongoing support to clients as needed.
- Travel up to 5%.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience and training.
- 2+ years of directly related experience.
- Ability to work full-time, 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM). Training will occur during 1st shift.

- Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.

- Detailed-oriented with effective prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical engineering/testing background.
- 6+ years of direct experience.
- Familiarity with standards and codes relating to product safety.

Schedule
This position is scheduled to work during 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - 1:00 AM). Training will initially occur during 1st shift.
