Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Schedule and Work Requirements

• Schedule: Shift 2:00PM to 10:00PM
• Work Responsibilities:
  • Routine preventative maintenance and services with outside contractors
  • Troubleshoot and repair ammonia refrigeration system
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC, water heating system, and boiler/condenser water chemical system
  • Facility and building inspections
  • Refrigeration system inspections
  • Maintain refrigeration logs and records
  • Housekeeping duties
  • Timely work order execution
  • Operate forklifts and aerial platforms
  • Complete daily Powered Industrial Truck Inspection
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and industry practices
  • Adhere to safety guidelines
  • Report quality, food safety, and workplace safety hazards
  • Attend and participate in required training and meetings
  • Work weekends and holidays as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and possess basic mathematical skills
• Must be able to utilize manufacturer equipment manuals, troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns, and read mechanical drawings
• Must have the ability to run various computer applications that apply to the department and business to an acceptable degree, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Products, and CMMS program, manufacturing and maintenance software
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams
• Basic Electrical knowledge to include NFPA 70e requirements
• Basic Ammonia Operator training within 6 months of job assignment
• Associate degree in mechanical or HVAC and /or 2 or more years of relevant experience in food/dairy manufacturing preferred
• Familiarity with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems preferred
• Familiarity with process instrumentation and process drawings, PLC’s preferred
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays
• CARO or CIRO Certification preferred but not necessary
• HMI/PLC troubleshooting skills
