Responsibilities

  • Work on high-profile and complex matters that incorporate valuation concepts and tools, including conducting data analysis and valuation modeling.
  • Provide support on complex accounting and valuation-related matters and disputes, such as investigations, forensic accounting, damage calculations, solvency analysis, settlement models, post-acquisition disputes, and general litigation support.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the client, the industry, and the case to surface and address key issues, from the big picture to the smallest details.
  • Develop and present presentations and reports to effectively communicate analyses, findings, and insights to clients and/or courts.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, legal counsel, and expert witnesses.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 5 years of experience in valuation, public audit, or a forensic and dispute consulting practice.
  • A valuation certification such as ASA/MRICS (or equivalent certification) is desired.
  • A CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience working on various types of complex valuation matters, including restructuring (e.g., solvency).
  • Knowledge of financial statement entry and analysis, KPI development and benchmarking, comparative analysis, and financial forecasting development (three-statement modeling).
  • Experience in performing financial statement analysis, including trend, common-size, and ratio analyses.
  • Experience in three-statement financial modeling, scenario stress modeling, and creating models from scratch.
  • Practical working knowledge of control premia/minority interest discounts, as well as NAV and DLOM development via OPM frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for extensive data analysis and valuation modeling.
  • Prior practical or analytical experience in the real estate industry or exposure to real estate appraisal is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Practical working knowledge of market intelligence platforms (S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and team management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet client needs.
  • Hybrid work arrangement, part-time in physical office and remote.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Demonstrated management skills.
  • Experience in supervising, developing, and motivating staff by providing leadership, mentoring, performance feedback, and career guidance.
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and assist with research for business development.

Benefits

The salary range is $65,000 - $90,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Employees are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part-time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type.
