The Team
The Structured Finance team at S&P Global Ratings covers complex credit structures including asset-backed securities, funds finance, and emerging alternative investments, partnering with issuers, arrangers, and investors across global markets.
Responsibilities And Impact
- Credit Analysis & Surveillance: Lead credit analysis and risk assessment across structured finance transactions, including asset-backed securities, funds finance, and emerging alternative investments.
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to evaluate cash flow performance, stress scenarios, and credit enhancement structures for complex securitization transactions.
- Transaction Monitoring: Monitor rated transactions, identify emerging credit concerns, and recommend appropriate rating actions where warranted.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Present analytical findings and credit opinions to internal rating committees with clear, evidence-based rationale. Engage with issuers, arrangers, and investors to gather transaction data, conduct due diligence, and explain rating approaches.
- Methodology Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine rating criteria for new and evolving structured finance asset classes.
Compensation / Benefits
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is USD $142,100 to $192,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in structured finance or credit analysis, with a focus on asset-backed securities or funds finance.
- Demonstrated financial modeling skills, including cash flow analysis, stress testing, and credit enhancement evaluation, using tools such as Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial structures and assess credit risk, including emerging asset classes and structural risks.
- Demonstrated ability to present analytical findings clearly to internal committees and external stakeholders, including issuers, arrangers, and investors.
Preferred Or Helpful Experience
- Experience using Python, R, MATLAB, C++, or VBA for financial modeling or structured data analysis.
- Experience with cash flow modeling for specialized asset classes, including triple net leases, data centers, private equity, or transportation asset-backed securities.
- Experience in client-facing roles such as market education delivery, industry conference participation, or investor engagement.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued.
Additional Information
- We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
