Associate Director, Specialty Pharmacy Operations

About the role

As an Associate Director of Specialty and Trade Operations, you will take ownership of specialty pharmacy strategy and execution—driving performance, improving access, and optimizing patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize specialty pharmacy operations to improve patient access, adherence, and affordability
• Monitor vendor and channel performance, ensuring programs consistently meet or exceed expectations
• Drive operational improvements and implement program enhancements across the specialty network
• Partner cross-functionally with teams across patient support, marketing, medical, analytics, and field access
• Translate data into actionable insights to elevate program performance and strategic decision-making
• Lead business reviews with external partners, providing oversight, direction, and accountability
• Develop communications, materials, and program frameworks in alignment with compliance requirements
• Manage budgets, timelines, and operational plans across multiple initiatives
• Ensure all activities are executed with a strong commitment to quality, compliance, and ethical standards

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in biopharma, with a strong track record in market access, trade, or specialty pharmacy
• Deep expertise in specialty pharmacy operations and managing external vendor relationships
• Proven ability to build, launch, and optimize complex programs in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights and actions
• Experience supporting product launches or pre-launch activities is highly valued
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

• ~40% travel
• Role offers high visibility and the opportunity to shape critical access and distribution strategies
• Must be located within 3 hours driving distance to Waltham, MA or Conshohocken, PA
• Required to travel into home office 1-2 times a month
