About the role
The Associate Director, Solution Architecture and Integration will design, build, and deliver software, product-oriented solutions, and platforms adhering to well-architected frameworks and delivery standards for excellence in execution. This role leads a skilled team focusing on Cloud Application Engineering and Application Integration to achieve architectural and engineering excellence. The position may allow working from home within commuting distance of the Plainsboro, NJ worksite.
Responsibilities
- Architect the development of technical designs for Genmab Research Organization; conduct current-state analysis, gap analysis, capability analysis, and document reference architecture for various Research systems and data products.
- Provide data architecture skills to support core solution architecting and integration of data sources, pipelines, and platforms in collaboration with Data & Analytics and Data Science & AI colleagues.
- Collaborate with POD Managers, Product Owners, and Business Leaders to execute high-level designs of solutions and ensure alignment with business and scientific objectives.
- Work with other architects and IT&D functions to design and document innovative and optimal solutions for the R&D space.
- Evaluate and select the best tools, platforms, and services for each solution, aligning with Genmab's Enterprise standards, guidelines, and patterns.
- Support prototyping and demonstrate the feasibility and alternatives of proposed solutions.
- Lead and oversee the implementation and deployment of solutions, engaging domain architects and vendors as needed.
- Liaise with AWS and other partners to leverage existing investments, tools, and technologies for cost-effective and scalable solutions.
- Co-create reusable and scalable technology components with other functional leaders; track, review, and provide feedback to development teams.
- Leverage Agile methodologies and ensure standards are met for test automation, quality, performance, security, and compliance.
- Stay current on leading practices and modern technology trends in AI, ML, GenAI, NLP, data platforms, mesh architecture, high-performance computing, and infrastructure as code.
- Manage complex problems and lead IT R&D projects.
- Adhere to architecting principles and best practices within a regulated environment, dealing with GxP (GLP or GCP) data and systems.
Requirements
Requires at least a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Applied Data Science, or a related field plus 7 years of experience with cloud-solution architecture within the pharmaceutical industry. Must possess 7 years of experience with each of the following:
- Gathering and analyzing business and user requirements by working with business partners and downstream data consumers.
- Designing, developing, and configuring system and platform solutions within PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SaaS (Software as a Service) environments.
- Defining application consolidation approaches, integration patterns, and use of cloud infrastructure services to enable scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.
- Ensuring that technical and detailed designs align with the architectural roadmap and conceptual solution architecture, maintaining traceability to functional and non-functional requirements.
- Reviewing technical design documents and providing peer-review feedback in coordination with cross-functional technical teams.
- Designing and supporting system integrations and technical components for enterprise applications including using JSON.
- Performing technical assessments of platforms to determine suitability for functional, integration, and architectural requirements.
- Supporting technical discussions with vendors and internal teams and contributing to estimates and reviews of change requests.
- Automating data extraction and transformation processes using Shell Scripting, Python, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Utilizing Agile Software Development, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), AWS for data processing and large-volume workloads, Oracle to manage relational databases, and GitHub as a code repository.
Pay
Annual salary between $261,248 and $313,498.
