About the role
The Associate Director, Product Artwork Management is responsible for leading the global strategy and execution of product artwork management across the full product lifecycle. This role serves as the central subject-matter expert for artwork and labeling processes, working across Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams.
Responsibilities
- Owning the global artwork capability, ensuring compliant, accurate, and timely delivery of packaging components across all markets.
- Establishing operating standards, improving processes, and leading cross-functional collaboration to support product launches and lifecycle management.
- Defining and implementing a global product artwork and printed labeling strategy aligned with business growth, launch priorities, and portfolio needs.
- Developing and maintaining GxP-compliant artwork procedures, controls, audit trails, and inspection-ready documentation aligned with global regulatory expectations.
- Leading end-to-end artwork lifecycle activities, including design, review, approval, printing, implementation, and lifecycle changes.
- Driving change-control execution for labeling updates, regulatory variations, and packaging optimization initiatives while minimizing operational risks and waste.
- Managing external artwork providers, ensuring performance standards, quality expectations, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Developing and leading a high-performing artwork organization through coaching, capability building, KPI management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology operations, with strong expertise in artwork management, labeling, regulatory compliance, and global cross-functional leadership.
- Strategic thinker with proven experience in designing or transforming operating models and leading global, cross-functional programs.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks, including GMP, ICH, FDA, and EMA requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in product lifecycle management, packaging operations, labeling processes, and artwork management systems such as GLAMS or Veeva Vault.
- Experience leading teams and influencing stakeholders within complex matrix organizations.
- Strong project and program management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and deliver strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication and executive stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to drive process improvement, risk-based decision-making, and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of compliance, quality systems, and inspection readiness requirements.
