Associate Director of Paid Social (Remote US)

The Associate Director of Paid Social sits on the fast-growing Communications team. Our social media team is on the cutting edge of media marketing for enterprise B2B clients, helping clients leverage the full power of LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, Reddit, and more to reach, engage, and convert their target audiences.
Associate Directors are the most important people at Directive. They are directly responsible for strategic excellence in their zone of genius and developing their team of social strategists. As an Associate Director in one of our most creative divisions, you have the opportunity to help shape both our product and culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead a pod of up to 8 Social Media Strategists, setting the tone for excellence across your team and clients.
- Goal Setting: Set the goals for each client engagement in your pod.
- Best Practices: Ensure every client follows best practices and our unique methodology for Social Advertising.
- Breakdown Barriers: Support your strategist in earning approval for campaigns and address roadblocks in 1x1 conversations with actionable plans.
- Accountability: Build structure, create cadence, support proactively, and empower your team with clear communication and expectation setting.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience working at a performance/digital marketing agency (B2B experience a bonus).
- 2+ years of people management experience.
- Deep expertise across paid social advertising campaigns, specifically LinkedIn Ads and Meta.
- Understanding of different Ad Units within LinkedIn and Meta platforms (e.g., conversation ads, document ads, CTV).
- Proficiency in advertising platforms and tools such as LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Zoominfo, 6Sense, and more.
- Ability to delegate to team members to ensure joint success.
- Strong ability to de-escalate client issues and proactively prevent them.
- Strong understanding of Paid principles, including ICP research, ad copywriting, bid management, and campaign optimization.
- Ability to analyze campaign performance data using tools like Google Analytics, GA4, Excel, or other analytics platforms to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to drive results and measure via OCT.
- Proven and measurable success with mid-market or enterprise accounts.
- Ability to translate and articulate strategy and tell stories with data.

- Travel to visit clients approximately once per year, per client or as needed.

- Offset client churn through referrals, upsells, and cross-sells.
- Clearly communicate results with client point of contact, executives, and internal team members.
- Demonstrate exceptional decision-making related to strategic direction for accounts and talent growth/retention.

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position based in the United States is $100,000–$135,000 USD with bonus eligibility. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on Directive’s compensation practices, job-related skills, and depth of experience.
Schedule
This is a remote-first role with the ability to work from anywhere in the US. Option to work from our state-of-the-art offices in Irvine, California. The role operates 100% virtually from your home office, collaborating primarily through virtual meetings (Zoom) and Slack.
