About the role

Tombras is seeking an Associate Director, Media Strategy to join one of the top independent agencies in North America. The role involves strategic oversight, team management, and operational stewardship in the development and implementation of media recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight: Leads the team through the development, implementation, and activation of media recommendations - through hands-on work and delegation of tasks.
  • Measurement Plan Development: Develops a measurement plan in conjunction with the analytics team and interprets media performance to inform client conversations and planning.
  • Data Analysis: Acts as an expert in leveraging media analytics to inform decision-making, extracting insights and relating them back to client business goals.
  • Team Management: Makes quick decisions and provides direction to maintain workflow, fostering professionalism and collaboration among the team.
  • Operational Stewardship: Helps develop scalable processes to support client work and overall agency execution, proficient in all media channels/tools and able to advance plans.
  • Media Stewardship: Oversees media stewardship and communication for all assigned accounts, ensuring necessary account checks and balances are in place to mitigate errors.
  • Solving Gaps: Guides the team in solving any gaps that arise.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of agency experience specifically in media planning and buying, including a working knowledge of paid search, paid social, and programmatic.
  • Creativity in developing a holistic media plan and the ability to provide rationale for strategic decisions.
  • Able to see the "big picture" by considering campaigns and clients holistically.
  • Knowledge of traditional media (TV, radio, OOH, print) and digital media strategy (search, social, programmatic).
  • At least 2+ years of mid-sized team management and cross-department collaboration.
  • Understanding of digital tracking concepts and digital media trafficking process.
  • Proficiency in Gmail, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Communications preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, especially with channel partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with DCM or similar ad servers.
