About the role

The Associate Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the Assessment Office, overseeing assessment activities across all phases of the curriculum and ensuring the effective delivery of assessment programs, services, and initiatives. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving assessment policies, procedures, and operational processes that support compliance, quality, and organizational effectiveness. The Associate Director manages personnel, resources, and assessment operations, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The role also leads staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development while maintaining productive relationships with institutional stakeholders, external partners, and vendors. Serving as a key assessment leader and subject matter expert, the Associate Director advances learner success, supports accreditation and regulatory requirements, and promotes excellence in educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations of the Office of Student Assessment and serves as a resource for assessment-related activities and initiatives.
  • Supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of competency-based assessment tools, processes, and systems across all phases of the curriculum.
  • Oversees staff scheduling and workflow to ensure effective operational coverage and service delivery; facilitates team meetings to communicate priorities, coordinate activities, and monitor progress toward departmental goals.
  • Assists with budget administration, including tracking salaries, software and equipment expenses, maintaining inventory records, monitoring resource utilization, and coordinating equipment maintenance and procurement activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Educational Measurement, Health Professions Education, Assessment and Evaluation, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 5 years progressively responsible experience in academic administration, assessment, educational operations, or a related field.
  • Proficient with: Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
