About the role

The Associate Director for Housing Services is responsible for the direction, organization, and administration of key housing services functions, with primary oversight of occupancy management and desk operations. This position provides leadership for the housing contract and assignment processes, residential front desk services, and associated administrative systems within a large, complex residential system.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for the housing contract and assignment processes, residential front desk services, and associated administrative systems within a large, complex residential system.
  • Serves as a member of the departmental leadership team, supporting strategic planning, policy development, and operational execution to ensure efficient, compliant, and student-centered housing services.
  • Supervises professional and student staff, manages critical systems and processes, and maintains strong partnerships with university stakeholders to enhance service delivery and the student residential experience.
  • Contributes to a culture of excellence and innovation, and supports the broader mission of Housing Services through data-informed decision-making, operational stewardship, and commitment to student success.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in housing operations (occupancy management, assignments, contracts, or related areas).
  • Experience supervising professional staff.
  • Experience with database systems and reporting tools; familiarity with housing management systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of housing compliance regulations and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Business, Public Administration, or related field; or Bachelor’s with equivalent experience.

Overtime Status: Exempt - Not eligible for overtime
Appointment Type: Regular
Salary Information: $60,000 - $72,000/year and commensurate with experience.
Hours per week: 40

  • Work Schedule: Non-traditional, including evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.
  • The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as a driving check with a safe driving record.
