Pay: Range begins at $62,000 and can be adjusted based on experience
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; work is performed on-site and in person.

About the role

Housing & Residence Life is seeking a team-focused and supportive supervisor to lead the department's Business Operations unit. This staff member will oversee a team of 10 full-time staff members and 40 student staff members. This area involves a wide variety of functions including Accounting, HR, desk operations, marketing, occupancy, billing, and travel. The successful candidate will have a strong comfort with technology and experience supporting a large and diverse team. The focus of this position is supervision and communication with campus partners.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the administrative, business planning, accounting, and budgeting for a division, college or large department.
  • Manages financial and fiscal operations, to include the development and administration of capital and/or operating budgets and expenditures, and the establishment and management of financial control systems.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives and short and long-range strategic planning.
  • Captures and analyzes data from various sources to prepare financial reports, special analyses and information requests.
  • Coordinates the preparation of financial reports, special analyses and information requests; may present recommendations for programmatic and fiscal changes.
  • Leads division, college or department budget and/or administrative operations training, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Supervises the work of others.

Requirements

  • Required Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
    • One (1) year of experience in finance or related field
  • Required License/Certifications/Training:
    • None
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficiency with technology
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to handle conflict and elevated customer service concerns
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration or similar
    • 3 years of housing experience
    • Experience using StarRez housing management software
    • Supervision experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
  • Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
