About the Role
Raytheon, part of RTX (the world’s largest aerospace and defense company), is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Strategic Strike portfolio of programs within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). This role focuses on a large and dynamic program area, primarily involving the Long-Range Standoff (LRSO) program transitioning from development to production, as well as two competitive new business pursuits—Denali and Stand-off Attack Weapon (SOAW)—expected to be awarded within the next 12 months.
The successful candidate will manage all finance-related activities, providing financial leadership and partnering with the Finance Director, program leadership, functional teams, and customers to drive sound business decisions. A critical focus will be maintaining and growing profitability throughout development, ensuring financial stability into early production, and aligning with long-term financial goals. This role requires proactive leadership, strategic direction, and tactical decision-making, including customer deliverables and operational oversight.
Responsibilities
- Provide vision, leadership, and supervision for a team of Financial Managers and Analysts.
- Manage a large, dynamic development program portfolio, driving Business, Schedule, Estimate, and Cost (BSEC) results through sound financial management.
- Oversee day-to-day operations while maintaining a strategic focus to meet or exceed business financial goals and commitments.
- Lead finance staffing, coaching, and team development to build strength and capability.
- Manage Estimate at Complete (EAC), including cost management, program risk and opportunity identification, and mitigation. Support development, review, and approval of program EACs across all contract types.
- Drive new business capture through competitive proposal development, pricing, and gate reviews.
- Lead financial forecasting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Plan (LRP) development.
- Oversee investment planning, including Capital, Independent Research & Development (IR&D), and New Business Investment (NBI) portfolios to align with strategic plans.
- Conduct Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) variance analysis, data review, and reporting.
- Partner with external customers to build relationships and ensure satisfaction with finance-based deliverables and data.
- Lead and participate in program and functional business reviews to ensure efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate closely with the customer community to drive change and address evolving requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; minimum of 12 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may substitute for 2 years of experience (minimum 10 years required).
- Experience in financial controls, accounting, FP&A, and/or program finance.
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued DoD Secret security clearance (required prior to start date). U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to analyze data, make prudent business decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience coordinating and building rapport across cross-functional disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Raytheon financial metrics, EAC processes, and accounting policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience meeting critical deadlines in high-visibility programs.
- Excellent financial background across disciplines (e.g., program controls, accounting, FP&A, budgets/rates) with the ability to assess cross-disciplinary impacts.
- Experience in leadership roles on highly visible programs.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $157,200 – $298,800 USD. The final offer will consider factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
