About the role
KPMG is currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join our Ignition Tax Product Team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design and execution of software and application development projects aligned with overall business and technology strategies
- Perform advanced testing activities, including bug verification, release validation and beta support to ensure product quality and reliability
- Translate business, market and customer requirements into effective software solutions that meet performance expectations and competitive demands
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software and application issues by partnering with stakeholders, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing long-term solutions
- Evaluate market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for new products, services and enhancements that drive business value
- Mentor and develop junior team members by providing technical guidance, coaching and knowledge sharing on development processes and best practices
- Act with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Requirements
- Minimum eight years of recent experience in software development, application engineering, or related technical roles
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering or related field is preferred; Master's degree from an accredited college or university is desired
- Strong programming expertise in C#, .NET Framework, Java, SQL, and Python, with the ability to design, develop and maintain scalable applications
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs, web services, XML-based solutions and enterprise application interfaces
- Proficiency with modern web technologies including Angular, HTML, CSS, jQuery and responsive web application development
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering through deployment; demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, debug, perform unit testing and deliver high-quality software solutions that align with business requirements and operational needs
