About the role

The Associate Director, Creative Marketing leads Getty Images' global Creative Studio, uniting Central and Regional Marketing Creative teams into one high-performing creative function. This role is accountable for the studio's creative output, operating model, and team performance, ensuring high-quality work is delivered consistently, efficiently, and aligned to business priorities. The role requires a hands-on creative professional who can contribute individually while managing a team in a lean, high-performing environment.

You'll shape a global brand, partnering with teams across Getty Images to create work that showcases the best of our brand and products. Success depends on prioritization, resource management, delivery discipline, and creative capability.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on execution: Actively contribute as a creative leader, personally delivering design work for high-priority, complex, or time-sensitive projects.
  • Studio operations & demand management: Own the Creative Studio operating model, including intake, workflow, prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery. Balance business demands with team capacity while improving speed, transparency, and execution.
  • Business partnership & stakeholder management: Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product, and regional teams to align creative investment with business priorities. Balance commercial impact, brand standards, and team capacity when evaluating requests, set clear expectations, communicate trade-offs, and escalate competing priorities.
  • Creative excellence & brand stewardship: Raise the creative bar by coaching the team and championing exceptional design and storytelling. Serve as the primary steward of brand consistency across campaigns, sales materials, and regional output. (Note: Website/product UX design is owned by a separate team.)
  • People leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of designers and copywriters. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, creative excellence, and continuous learning.
  • Continuous improvement: Modernize studio operations through AI-enabled workflows, automation, and smarter ways of working to increase creative capacity without compromising quality.

  • Greater consistency in Getty Images’ brand across campaigns, sales, and regional work.
  • Improved support for America marketing demand with reduced reliance on external resourcing.
  • Greater transparency into studio capacity, priorities, and delivery.
  • Increased creative throughput without sacrificing quality.
  • A high-performing Creative Studio team with clear ownership, accountability, and engagement.

Requirements

  • Experience leading an in-house creative studio or team, ideally global or multi-region.
  • Proven ability to lead designers and copywriters while remaining a hands-on creative contributor (expect ~50% of time on direct creative execution).
  • Strong design craft and confidence to execute high-profile work personally when required.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to translate business priorities into creative decisions.
  • Experience building scalable creative operations, workflows, and delivery models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Sound judgment in balancing competing priorities and making timely decisions.
  • Experience applying AI and automation to improve creative workflows is a plus.

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is USD $118,000 to USD $175,000 per annum. Actual compensation depends on qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, certification, business needs, performance, and level of responsibility. The company reserves the right to modify this range.
