Associate Director - Child Care Center, Days

About the role

The Associate Director coordinates and assists the Director with the overall operations and management of the Child Care Center. They support the Director in a fair and consistent manner with the supervision and evaluation of staff in an assigned area or department. They assist the Director in developing revenue and expense projections for the budget, including childcare fees, wages, and equipment needs.

Responsibilities

• Available to all childcare staff and parents to help resolve issues as they arise.
• Communicates with parents and childcare staff in a professional and positive manner with open and honest conversations to resolve issues as they arise.
• Uses creativity to develop and stimulate educational experiences.
• Uses discretion, discernment, and tact in confidential matters.
• Aid in the development of revenue and expense projections for the budget.
• Assists the Director in monitoring center financial performance and implementing changes as directed to optimize budget performance.

Qualifications

• Education: An Associate's degree in early childhood education or a related field is required. A Bachelor's degree in the same field is preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications: A Director Certification from the MS Department of Health is required within 90 days.
• Work Experience: 4-6 years of experience in early childhood settings is required. 3-5 years of experience is preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Essential skills include good organizational skills, communication skills, and budget management skills. The candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively orally, follow oral instructions, and participate in 15 hours of staff development to retain this position.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 annually.
