About the role
The Associate Director manages the daily activities and resources for two TRIO Student Support Services grants serving 280 students annually (Classic-160, STEM-120). The role includes overseeing 5 full-time staff, coordinating peer tutoring and mentoring, and managing the Links Summer Bridge Program.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to and oversee day-to-day operations of the programs and the department.
- Manage service delivery model to provide optimum services responsive to shifting student needs.
- Coordinate planning, scheduling, and facilitation of services, activities, and workshops.
- Represent TRIO on campus and in the community.
- Assume departmental leadership responsibility in addressing student needs proactively.
- Collaborate with partners across campus to increase TRIO awareness and leverage crucial services.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience serving disadvantaged students.
- Three years of experience in academic support in higher education settings.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means.
- Proven interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft 365 and familiarity with database systems, Canvas, student information systems, and Colleague.
- Available extended hours in the summer and some nights and weekends.
- Previous experience as a participant or staff member for a TRIO program preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience with educational programs.

- Proven ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Desirable qualifications include the ability to speak a second language or bring a multicultural perspective to the campus.
