About the Role

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is searching for an Associate Director, AI Next Frontiers for Patient Engagements to lead the AI transformation and execution roadmap for patient support services across our key Therapeutic Areas (TAs). The Associate Director will lead our AI transformation journey with a primary focus on elevating patient solutions and experience through the strategic application of AI for an outstanding, patient-focused fulfillment and adherence experience. This role requires the ability to influence decision-making at senior levels while working collaboratively with teams across the JNJ IM organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day relationships and projects with leadership across PECS (Patient Experience & Customer Solutions), brand sales and marketing, Media, Advanced Analytics, Data Science & Engineering, and IT to shape and evolve the patient solution roadmap.
  • Serve as the end-to-end product owner and single point-of-contact for AI/ML solutions supporting patient support services (including Patient Engagement.AI) for the chosen Therapeutic Area (TA).
  • Lead partnerships with HCC, privacy, and legal teams to ensure compliance and patient confidentiality are at the core of all solutions.
  • Identify and quantify the most significant problems across the entire patient journey to determine where, when, and how to best intervene in helping patients start and stay on therapy.
  • Lead the ongoing 'use case centric' evaluation of data sets and methodologies to improve predictive capabilities.
  • Determine the impact of solutions and programs through leading and lagging indicators, including establishing a measurement framework and conducting A/B testing.
  • Advocate for change and foster progress in new ways of thinking regarding the role of AI within patient support services.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant business experience in healthcare, analytics, data science, marketing, management consulting, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience handling budget responsibility of over $2M annually.

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment.
  • Prior experience integrating and analyzing healthcare claims, electronic health records, lab results, specialty pharmacy, SDOH/consumer, and patient hub data.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, ChatGPT, Copilot) in daily workflows, with concrete examples of how they reduce effort, speed up delivery, or improve output quality.
  • Hands-on experience in predictive analytics and machine learning techniques (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, deep learning) and their real-world applications is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience driving adoption and sustained usage of AI solutions in the field.
  • Outstanding employee coaching skills and demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Intellectual curiosity, passion for learning new things, and adaptability to shifting timelines and priorities.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $137,000 to $235,750 USD.

Schedule

This position is based in Titusville, NJ and will require up to 15% domestic travel.
