9. Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones
10. Output ONLY the HTML fragment — no /, no markdown code fences
Let me analyze the job posting content:
Position Title: Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Nursing
Department: School of Nursing
Posting Number: F260026 (minor metadata, fold into p or drop)
Posting Link: URL (drop)
Employer State: Faculty Appointment Term Term Position Type UUP Faculty Bargaining Unit (metadata)
Fiscal Year: 2025-2026 (metadata)
Position Summary: Long paragraph about the role.
Responsibilities: Broken into subsections:
- Academic Programs (multiple bullet points)
- Enrollment Management (bullet points)
- Accreditation and Licensing (bullet points)
- Advising and Student Services (bullet points)
- Faculty Development (bullet points)
- Evaluation and Assessment (bullet points)
- Technology, Simulation, and Learning Management System (bullet points)
- Practice and Community Partnerships (bullet points)
- "Performs other duties assigned by the Dean."
Then a paragraph about diversity commitment.
About UB School Of Nursing: Description paragraph.
Benefits: "Our benefits, where we prioritize your well-being and success to enhance every aspect of your life. Being a part of the University at Buffalo community." This is vague but mentions benefits. However, the rule says never create Benefits section unless the posting actually states them. It says "Our benefits, where we prioritize..." but doesn't list specific benefits. Might be considered boilerplate. I'll include a brief mention in a paragraph maybe under a "About the Organization" section.
EEO statement: "The University at Buffalo is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and welcomes all to apply including veterans and individuals with a disability." This is boilerplate, remove.
Minimum Qualifications: List of 6 items.
Preferred Qualifications: List of 6 items.
Prodig+ No Executive Position No Physical Demands Driving Requirements: "This position will never drive a university owned vehicle." (minor)
Salary Range: "Competitive" (placeholder, not specific) — rule says never create Pay section unless posting actually states them. "Competitive" is filler, so omit Pay section.
Additional Salary Information: none.
Job Type: Full-Time (could be Schedule? But rule says never create Schedule unless posting actually states them. "Full-Time" is a schedule, but it's a single word. Might include in a short metadata paragraph.)
Campus: South Campus (location metadata)
Posting Alerts, Special Instructions Summary, Additional Information: background check required? No. Contact info: Jackie Martek, etc. Posting dates, deadline, references. These are application instructions/metadata, remove.
Thus, I need to create sections for:
- Position Summary (maybe "About the Role")
- Responsibilities (with subsections as lists)
- Minimum Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications
- About the Organization (School of Nursing description)
- Maybe a brief metadata paragraph for job type, campus, etc.
But the rule: "Use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." So I can use "About the Role", "Responsibilities", "Requirements" (or "Minimum Qualifications"), "Preferred Qualifications", "About the School of Nursing".
I should not include "Benefits" because not specific. Not "Pay" because "Competitive" is filler. Not "Schedule" because only "Full-Time" but that's minor.
I'll fold minor metadata (Posting Number, Fiscal Year, Job Type, Campus) into a short
at the top or bottom.
Now, structure:
Start with a
for metadata: "Posting Number: F260026 | Fiscal Year: 2025-2026 | Full-Time | South Campus"
Then
About the Role
with the position summary paragraph.
Then Responsibilities
with subsections. Since the responsibilities are grouped, I could either make each group a sub-list under the same heading, or use ? But rule says use for section headings. It doesn't forbid , but the example only mentions . I think using for each major responsibility area might be too many headings. Better to keep one Responsibilities
and then use with nested lists? But the rule says use - for any list of duties. The responsibilities are multiple bullet points under each subcategory. I can present as a series of
lists, each preceded by a bold label or a with the subcategory name. However, the rule says "Use
for section headings". It doesn't say we can't use or for subheadings. I'll use
Academic Programs
then ... etc.
But the rule: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So maybe keep Responsibilities as one section with multiple lists.
Similarly for Qualifications: two sections: Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications.
About the School of Nursing: one section.
Now, ensure no boilerplate: remove EEO, contact info, posting dates, references, application instructions.
Now, write HTML.
