About the role
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (ADAA) primary role is to support the School of Nursing’s academic mission by providing leadership, oversight, and direction across undergraduate (BS, ABS, RN/BS) and graduate programs (DNP and PhD).
Responsibilities
- Supports the School of Nursing’s academic mission through leadership, oversight, and direction across undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Engages with leadership and faculty across the University at Buffalo to position the School for continued growth and expansion.
- Fosters a community of faculty and student scholars committed to academic excellence, high research productivity, and innovation in practice and community/professional service.
- Buils, maintains, and strengthens a core commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion to prepare future leaders for service to their communities.
- Provides oversight and direction to the Office of Student Affairs/Services, Simulation Services, and Interprofessional Education efforts, the Educational Staff Service Support team, and interfaces with accreditation and professional licensing entities, Information Technology Services, and Brightspace.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong background in nursing education and administration.
- Experience leading academic affairs and overseeing multiple programs.
- Proven ability to foster a culture of collaboration, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
- Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in academic nursing administration.
- Experience with accreditation processes and regulatory compliance.
Skills

Pay
The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
