About the role

As the Associate Dean & Head of School, you will lead the School of Information Studies (SOIS) within the newly formed College of Community Engagement and Professions (CCEP) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Your responsibilities will include building and supporting an inclusive and supportive environment for teaching, learning, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

• Build and support an inclusive and supportive environment for teaching, learning, scholarship, and service.
• Work as a member of the CCEP Dean’s leadership team to bring to life the progressive vision for the new college.
• Collaborate with SOIS faculty and staff to manage day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Energetic, visionary scholar with a commitment to advancing the field of library science and information technology.
• Experience leading academic programs and fostering a culture of innovation and inquiry.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications

• PhD in Library Science, Information Studies, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven track record of successful leadership and program development.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate faculty and staff.
• Experience with strategic planning and implementation.
