Associate, Deal Services

About the Role

CLA is looking to hire an Associate for our Deal Services practice. This role performs financial Quality of Earnings, due diligence, Excel financial analysis, and other consultative services for clients involved in mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis: Perform ad hoc analysis under tight deadlines, create original financial statement models with high accuracy, and write reports on findings for clients and their advisors.
• Service Specialization: Develop expertise in a particular service (and sometimes a secondary service), gaining deep knowledge that transcends industries or focuses on one specific industry. Understand the full suite of CLA’s service capabilities.
• Transaction Advisory/Deal Services: Conduct detailed financial due diligence, collect and analyze financial data to identify reporting errors, summarize key accounting policies, and detect issues impacting transaction value or client risk. Build detailed analyses and reports, manage multiple engagements within budget and deadlines, and communicate progress to supervisors. May direct small Quality of Earnings projects after two years.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Exposure to financial statement preparation, audits, and reviews preferred.
• Progress toward CFA, CPA, or other post-graduate degree/relevant certification.
• General knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, financial markets, and financial data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency in internal software systems: Pfx Engagement, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Windows/Office.
• 1 year of audit and/or Quality of Earnings experience strongly preferred.

Pay

The compensation range for this position in New York is: $72,000–110,000. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact the position within the range.
