Associate Custodian, Day

What You'll Be Doing

Assist in maintaining, or may maintain, a clean, safe, and healthy environment in University facilities. Provide custodial services for university classrooms, offices, research labs, and public spaces. In addition, one or more of the following may be an essential function of this position:

• Drive a university-owned vehicle during work shift
• Work a non-traditional schedule, see posted shift schedule
• Learn and perform specialized cleaning procedures
• Develop relationships with building occupants and respond to requests

About the Role

This position represents a dual-level posting and will be filled as an Associate Custodian or Custodian. The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

Starting Pay

$15.00 plus $0.70 shift differential for a total of $15.70

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience

• No formal education or experience required for Associate Custodian
• Six months of custodial experience and 24 months of total work experience for Custodian

Skills Needed

• Complete onboarding training or enroll in program within 90 days of hire
• Able to read, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate and understand others
• Basic math skills and good work organization
• Able to learn and use powered and non-powered floor care equipment
• Able to work well with others and work in a team environment
• Learn and follow safety procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment as required
• Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 60 lbs occasionally

Nice to Have

• One year of general work experience
• A valid US or Canadian Driver's License
