About the role

We are hiring for an Associate Cook position at Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, AK. The position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hour variable shifts, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of food for residents, patients, staff and special events
• Setting up dining areas
• Washing and sanitizing dishes
• Affirmation of providing quality nutritional services on a daily basis
• Maintaining the Dietary department in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner

Requirements

• National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority
• Coursework/Training - Specific vocational training in food or nutritional training
• 6 months On the job training or experience in quantity food preparation in cooking, estimating food needed, requisitioning and storing food and supplies, basic principles of dietetics and principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in food handling

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications: National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority
• Preferred Qualifications: Coursework/Training - Specific vocational training in food or nutritional training. This training can be provided in a school, work, military, institutional or vocational environment

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
