About the role
Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to the uninsured and medically underserved population in San Diego County. With over 90 sites and serving more than 227,000 patients annually, FHCSD operates a wide range of clinics and programs, including primary care, behavioral health, dental, vision, and substance use treatment.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Clinic Director in developing and maintaining community linkages and key community relationships.
- Affirms the Clinic Director in ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and organizational standards.
- Ensures staff complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Implements annual contracts, grants, and grant requirements as directed.
- Ensures the site is well-maintained and compliant with FHCSD’s facilities policies.
- Supports the Clinic Director in providing quality care to patients.
- Works with Medical, Nursing, and Program Leadership to implement and coordinate services and quality of care standards.
- Interprets the role of health center services for patients, personnel, medical staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Builds positive relationships, inspires others, and prepares career development plans.
- Counsels and administers appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities and deploys appropriate Lean tools.
- Ensures staff receive all new hire and annual trainings on time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- At least 3 years of managerial experience in the health care field, or a Master’s degree and at least 1 year of experience as a manager in the health care field.
- At least 3 years’ experience demonstrating progressively responsible positions in health care services, with preference for ambulatory medical clinics.
- Traveling between sites and other locations is required as an essential function of the job.
