About the role

The position will be responsible for the monitoring of high excess cyber claims and potential cyber claims. Additionally, this position may handle the resolution of low complexity and low exposure claims and provide support to other team members as directed. This role collaborates with the claims team and receives assignments from their direct supervisor. This position makes appropriate decisions within its authority and makes thoughtful recommendations when outside authority levels are involved.

Responsibilities

  • Draft acknowledgment letters in response to new notices.
  • Conduct and coordinate investigations into loss facts and extent of damages.
  • Confirm coverage of claims by reviewing policies and documents submitted in support of claims.
  • Evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of an insured's exposure.
  • Participate in special projects or assist other team members as requested.
  • Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information.
  • Provide excellent and professional customer service.
  • Set reserves within authority or make claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to manager.
  • Reconcile claim payments and investigate unpaid deductible obligations.
  • Prepare claim files for closure and provide other support functions for examiners and managers.
  • Analyze claim data and prepare claim reports as needed by manager.

Requirements

  • High school degree required.
  • College degree, professional designation, and/or related job experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively and as a team player willing to assist within the Unit and Professional Liability Division as needed.
  • Ability to proactively self-manage a high volume caseload.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

Pay

The hourly rate offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The national average hourly range for the Associate Claims Examiner is $27.84/hr- $38.27/hr with 10% incentive.
