Associate Branch Product Manager | Victor, NY
About the role
The Associate Branch Product Manager position is an intermediate career development role that provides individuals with the competencies and experience necessary to develop into a Product Manager position within 12 to 18 months. Key responsibilities include coordinating quotes, negotiating pricing with suppliers and contract manufacturers, driving and promoting key supplier lines, maintaining system integrity, and supporting sales to increase business.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates quotes by working with sales staff, suppliers, and corporate Product department to develop competitive prices that maximize gross profit margins.
- Serves as a liaison between the branch and the corporate Product department, providing ongoing technical product knowledge to branch employees and facilitating monthly product training sessions.
- Drives and promotes a manageable number of low/medium activity lines by obtaining maximum competitive advantages from suppliers.
- Gathers market information through various sources and develops and maintains successful supplier relationships.
- Maintains cost database by adding, changing, deleting, and updating cost and ship debit information with accuracy.
- Provides product support by responding to issues with urgency and using problem-solving skills to resolve pricing, accounting, and inventory management issues.
- Participates in monthly product training sessions to keep the branch up-to-date on current technology and industry trends.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience, is preferred.
- One to three years of applicable experience in a related role (i.e., Product Manager Assistant) and electronics industry experience is also preferred.
- Possesses working knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, gross profit analysis, market and vendor analysis, and economics of distribution.
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications at the intermediate level.
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- Possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to type 40 words per minute is preferred.
Qualifications
