Associate Attorney - Probate

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a probate docket of approximately 30 cases, ensuring timely progression and resolution
• Supervise and direct the work of the paralegal and legal assistant, including task delegation and workflow oversight
• Attend court hearings, conferences, and probate proceedings as required
• Maintain consistent and professional client communication, including case updates and guidance
• Conduct new client intake, initial case evaluations, and follow-up communications
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, correspondence, and probate-related documents
• Ensure accurate calendaring and compliance with court deadlines and statutory requirements
• Cook up with firm leadership to report on case status and workload capacity
• Utilize case management systems to maintain organized and up-to-date files
• Perform additional duties related to probate matters as assigned

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Prior probate or estate administration experience strongly preferred
• Experience supervising paralegals and legal assistants
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small firm team
• Proficiency with legal technology and case management software (e.g., Clio or similar platforms)
