Associate Attorney - Litigation

Responsibilities

• Advise employers—including private businesses and public agencies—on a range of employment issues, such as workplace policies, employee relations, wage and hour compliance, and risk management.
• Represent the organization in all legal proceedings, including mediations, arbitrations, and court trials.
• Conduct thorough legal research to provide accurate and timely advice to the organization.
• Prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and policies to ensure they are legally sound and in the best interest of the organization.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to develop defense strategies.
• Stay abreast of changes in labor and employment laws and regulations to ensure the organization's compliance.
• Provide training and guidance to management and HR personnel on labor and employment law matters.
• Aid in managing the organization's litigation activities, including budgeting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably in a defense role.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to provide sound legal advice on complex labor and employment law issues.
• Strong negotiation and representation skills, with a proven track record of successful dispute resolution.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Proven commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical standards.
• Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.
