Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage

We are working with a nationally recognized defense firm that focuses on legal solutions for the reinsurance and insurance industries, as well as self-insured clients facing litigation. The firm practices in business law, construction law, general litigation, transportation law, and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance and reinsurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions.
• Review complex insurance contracts and assess related legal issues.
• Advise on risk transfer strategies.
• Communicate with clients to provide clear and strategic coverage recommendations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Manage litigation caseloads, including depositions, court appearances, and motion practice, both independently and under supervision.
• Perform in-depth legal research and respond to regulatory inquiries.
• Accurately record and maintain billable hours while ensuring all deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in the State of New York is required; admission in CT, PA, or NJ is a plus.
• Federal Court experience is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience in insurance coverage or related fields (e.g., reinsurance, regulatory).
• Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, with a commitment to delivering error-free work.
• Experience with written discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Insurance defense experience is a plus.

Pay

$110,000 - $150,000 per year base salary, plus bonus.
