About the role
O'Hagan Meyer is seeking a Litigation Associate with at least 2-3 years of experience in commercial and/or general liability litigation to join its Norfolk, VA office. Experience in business & commercial litigation, general liability, labor & employment, medical malpractice defense, and products liability is a plus. This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney looking to handle a wide range of defense litigation matters involving cutting-edge topics and sophisticated, interesting clients.
Responsibilities
- Legal research and drafting of pleadings, motions, and other documents
- Taking and defending depositions
- Representing clients in mediation
- Drafting and answering discovery requests
- Trial preparation and trial assistance
- Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues
- Local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections, and depositions
Requirements
- Admission to the state bar of Virginia is required
- At least 2-3 years of experience in commercial and/or general liability litigation
- Experience with both state and federal courts preferred, as well as state and federal administrative agencies
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional client service

Pay
Salary range: $125K - $140K. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
