Associate General Counsel - Litigation

About the Role

Our Associate General Counsel will support our business with all regulatory and legal matters, overseeing title-related legal projects as well as servicing and other loan-level litigation. This position requires 100% on-site attendance at our headquarters in Pontiac, MI.

Responsibilities

• Focus on Mortgage Servicing Litigation
• Provide business support on a variety of regulatory and legal matters
• Interpret legislation and regulations affecting mortgage brokers and lenders
• Review business relationships with vendors
• Conduct legal research on unique legal issues impacting the organization
• Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Company
• Perform pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
• Provide legal training to Company team members

Requirements

• Michigan bar licensed attorney
• Litigation experience
• Experience in overseeing and litigating servicing and other loan-level cases
• Experience performing corporate legal work
• Experience in the mortgage banking, banking, loan servicing, or financial industry
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Effective planning, organizational, and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and able to work well in a team-based environment
