About the role
O'Hagan Meyer is seeking a Litigation Associate with at least 3-6 years of experience in commercial and/or general liability litigation to join its Wilmington, DE office.
Responsibilities
- Legal research and drafting of pleadings, motions, and other documents
- Taking and defending depositions
- Representing clients in mediation
- Drafting and answering discovery requests
- Preparation and assistance in trials
- Experience with both state and federal courts, as well as state and federal administrative agencies
- Effective communication with clients and colleagues
- Some local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections, and depositions
Requirements
- Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional client service
- Admission to the state bar of Delaware is required. Admission to Ohio is preferred.
Qualifications
- At least 3-6 years of experience in commercial and/or general liability litigation
- Experience in mass torts, class actions, and professional liability defense (skilled care facilities, hotels/motels, lawyers, architects and engineers, sports teams) is a plus
- Admission to the state bar of Delaware is required. Admission to Ohio is preferred.
