Associate Attorney - Construction Litigation

Lydecker is seeking an associate attorney with 5 years of experience for a hybrid position in our Boca Raton or Miami, FL offices. The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in Florida and will handle a variety of cases, including construction litigation and general liability defense, under the supervision of a partner.

Responsibilities

• Bill a minimum number of hours as required
• Draft, review, and respond to petitions, complaints, motions, and written discovery
• Attend hearings and client meetings as requested
• Prepare for and attend depositions
• Assist with preparation for mediations and trials

Requirements

• Active Florida bar license in good standing
• JD from an ABA-approved law school
• Minimum of 5 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in construction defect litigation
• Experience handling 15+ cases simultaneously, including attending and defending depositions, taking depositions, court appearances, motion and discovery drafting
• Mediation and trial experience a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, internet software)
• Self-motivated with strong client communication skills
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities
• Commitment to ethical behavior and client confidentiality
