About the role
Zwicker & Associates, P.C. is seeking a Legal Compliance Associate Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have one to five years of experience practicing law, including conducting internal reviews of legal threats, lawsuits, and government agency complaints.
Responsibilities
- Conduct internal reviews of legal threats, lawsuits, and government agency complaints under the supervision of senior lawyers.
- Assist in drafting correspondence with government agencies and opposing parties.
- Design and implement compliance programs relevant to consumer and commercial debt collection, data privacy and security, and employment-related issues.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience as a practicing attorney.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted, active, and in good standing with at least one State Bar.
- Ability to anticipate legal issues, risks, and compliance needs.
- Ability to develop legal strategy and exercise sound independent judgment.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements affecting the debt collection and financial services industries.
- Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and state consumer protections laws.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing.
- Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device.
- Ability to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule.
- Ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence.

Pay
The base salary for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per year.
Schedule
