Position Overview
The Associate Attorney will independently manage a caseload of family law matters, including dissolution, custody, support, and complex asset division. The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling cases from inception through resolution with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong litigation, negotiation, and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a full caseload of family law matters.
- Handle all aspects of case work, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Draft pleadings, declarations, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct client consultations and maintain clear, consistent communication throughout the case.
- Represent clients effectively in court appearances and depositions.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case progression and superior client service.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 4-8 years of recent, hands-on family law experience required.
- Strong understanding of California family law, court procedures, and local rules.
- Prioritize and manage multiple priorities while meeting billable hour requirements (1,650/year).
- Proven ability to handle cases with minimal supervision and deliver results.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
