Responsibilities
- Work effectively with all departments, including reviewing and drafting contracts, assisting in potential litigation matters, and advising on legal issues specific to each department.
- Draft and negotiate operational agreements, such as Master Services Agreements for business departments, marketing, and business development agreements, and service and supply agreements.
- Support all day-to-day needs of the Legal Department.
- Develop and modify policies, practices, and guidelines to confirm with business requirements and maintain compliance with applicable state, federal and international laws, and regulations.
- Manage dissemination within the company of information needed to maintain compliance with laws and regulations.
- Cook with human resources to implement risk management and corporate structuring initiatives.
- Assist with the selection, retention, and management of outside counsel.
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with eligibility for admission in the jurisdiction of employment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to businesses.
- 2–4 years of practice with an established law firm or relevant in-house counsel experience (in-house experience highly preferred).
- Proficient experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
- Proficient understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Experience in a dynamic in-house legal environment in the aviation industry.
- Understanding of the Vista America organization and its operations.
- Experience with the private jet industry and related legal issues.
