Job Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents for court filing, including but not limited to: FDCPA Letters, Demand Letters, Notices of Sale, and Sheriff's Deeds.
- Represent client interests; provide strategic legal counsel to staff and clients on a variety of issues.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Review court alerts and provide compliance guidance in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work cross-functionally with other attorneys, legal assistants, support staff, and external vendors.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) is required from a law school.
- Admission to the State Bar of Michigan and in good standing.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, title, collections, or creditors' rights.
- Knowledge of Michigan court procedures and filing requirements.
- Prior in-house compliance experience reviewing relevant statutes and caselaw preferred.
- Prior doc review and/or litigation experience preferred.
- Prior experience with CaseAware or a similar case management system preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and research skills.

Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with an average of 40 hours per week. Position may require extended hours and flexible availability outside of the regular business schedule.
