Join Morrison Mahoney LLP as a Full-Time Associate Attorney in Hartford, CT, focused on civil litigation. With 3-8 years of experience, you'll have the opportunity to tackle complex cases in areas such as Insurance Defense, Professional Liability, Construction, Employment, Medical Malpractice Defense, and Long-Term Care. Responsibilities

  • Independently manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while meticulously adhering to deadlines.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, providing you with invaluable courtroom experience.
  • Engage closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to devise effective litigation strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and write memoranda to bolster case strategies.
  • Collaborate with seasoned partners and senior attorneys to ensure smooth case management, enhancing your professional skills in a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and be admitted to the Connecticut State Bar or have an adequate UBE score for admission to the jurisdiction.
  • Have 3 to 8 years of litigation experience preferably in insurance defense or closely related practice area.
  • Clerkship experience is considered a valuable asset.
  • Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions is vital, coupled with strong capabilities in performing thorough legal research and responding effectively to discovery requests.
  • Strong advocacy skills are crucial as you assist in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings.
  • Attention to detail, prioritization skills, and effective communication are key attributes for success in this position.

Pay

The expected pay ranges from $105,000 to $130,000 (commensurate with experience).
