We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced Permanent Associate Attorney to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with a passion for litigation and a keen interest in the medical malpractice defense field.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of medical malpractice defense cases, litigation matters.
- Draft, review, and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
- Collaborate closely with partners and other team members to develop and implement case strategy.
- Consistently meet a billable hour requirement of 1950 hours per year/162.5 per month.
- Cover depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Conduct telephone calls with expert witnesses, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Provide comprehensive legal assistance and advice to clients.
- Stay updated on recent changes in laws and regulations related to medical malpractice defense.
- Work in a hybrid model, with a combination of remote and in-office work.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, specifically in medical malpractice defense.
- Active member in good standing with the State Bar.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and other legal documents.
- Exceptional writing and advocacy skills.
- Prominent ability to collaborate effectively with a team on case strategy.
- Experience in covering depositions and conducting telephone calls with expert witnesses.
- Ability to consistently meet a high billable hour requirement.
- Familiarity with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
