About the role
A national law firm with a highly regarded affordable housing and community development practice is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities
- Work on sophisticated transactional matters, including real estate development, finance, regulatory analysis, and complex real estate transactions.
- Handle real estate transactions, with a demonstrated interest in affordable housing, community development, and work that supports meaningful neighborhood and economic development initiatives.
- Contribute to the firm's mission-driven real estate transactions with a direct community impact.
- Gain exposure to complex real estate finance, regulatory, and development matters.
- Collaborate with experienced attorneys in a collegial, team-based environment.

- Participate in a practice that goes beyond traditional billable-hour work and focuses on strengthening communities.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience handling real estate transactions.
- Demonstrated interest in affordable housing and community development.
- Experience with complex real estate transactions.
- Preferred regulatory analysis experience.
- Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- DC-barred or eligible candidates preferred, depending on firm requirements.
Skills
- Strong interest in affordable housing and community development.
- Experience with complex real estate transactions.
- Regulatory analysis experience preferred.
