Associate Attorney
Job Details
Manage a caseload of foreclosure, bankruptcy, and or collections matters from initiation through resolution.
Represent clients, primarily mortgage servicers and lenders, at court hearings and proceedings tied to those matters.
Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal filings, making sure everything tracks with state and federal compliance standards including FDCPA requirements.
Communicate directly with servicer and lender clients to provide case status updates and strategic guidance.
Work closely with paralegals and case managers within the firm's centralized case management structure.
Stay current on changes to state foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections law that could affect ongoing matters.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina, in good standing
- 1 to 4 years of experience practicing law
- Strongly Preferred: Direct experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or collections
- Familiarity with creditors' rights, default servicing, or related real estate law work
- Ability to manage a high volume caseload independently while staying on top of deadlines and compliance
- Comfortable in a hybrid setup, splitting time between the Charlotte office and remote work
